So many of us think it is our right to get things from God and so we go as far as asking some type of way or literally even threatening the creator to do our bidding. It's not wrong entirely but we forget that Romans 9:15 tells us "For he said to Moses "I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I will have compassion". Daniel understood the concept of mercy and that's why in Daniel chapter 2 from verse 17-19, we can see how the mercies of God played out. He didn't ask God for a revelation but he indirectly did through the platform of God's mercy. Utilize God's mercy to the fullest especially for the fact that we live in dispensation of grace❤️.

This is a wake up call for those of us who shout at God, talking about "if you don't do this for me I won't serve you". My dear, even Daniel's Hebrew friends understood the mercy pattern that is why in chapter 3 of Daniel when they were faced with the dilemma of either bowing down to a graven image or burning in the fiery furnace, they said... (read Daniel 3:16-18 with focus on 18)

"Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego answered and said to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king. 1️⃣8️⃣But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up.”(Daniel 3:16‭-‬18 NKJV)

Whether or not God saved them, they knew that he would still remain God.

Personally this has been on of the hardest truths for me to accept as a child of God but we cannot change the facts so we need to live and abide by them.

Commitment and Consistency!

Anyone who needs ( not wants) to "BLOW" has to be consistent for you know not the day the work you are continuously putting in, will pay.

"Now when Daniel knew that the decree was signed, he went home and in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days"(Daniel 6:10 NKJV)

Please underline the last part "as was his custom since his early days". If we are following English language correctly, King James Version of Daniel 1:3-4 tells us Daniel and his friend were Children while Contemporary English Version and New King James tells us they were brought into Babylon as young men. Either way what I want to establish is the CONSISTENCY! From his early days, he maintained the SAME energy with God and didn't flinch for once.

King after King, court after court, it was obvious that Daniel and his God were inseparable; whether and for the scripture to say since his early days, it means it wasn't because of the law that Daniel suddenly started opening his windows to pray and partying three times a day CONSISTENTLY.

His consistency did a couple of things for him; Got him into "trouble", earned him hatred, established his sincerity to his God, gave him a worthy position by the time his God prevailed and made everyone worship his God in a land flowing with idols.

I am learning that just the way we humans applaud consistency, God also loves it. Chapter 6:20 that I said to keep standby, you can go back there now and concur with the fourth king that Daniel was consistent in his servitude to God. When God had honoured him and caused him to find favour with the previous Kings, he could've said "okay Lord, now is the time to chop life small and enjoy these positions" but nope! He was still at the top of his game with God so the blow wasn't a one time thing plus God also rewarded him with the consistency of making him indispensable in every King's reign.

Serve God with consistency and watch the results! The truth is that even for me, some of us are just here for the good days and so we find it hard to make God our promise keeper when what he told us 20 years ago has not even shown faint signs of materializing. We feel like we have laboured enough and we take a walk. Well my dear, God does not work like that and I pray we all learn.

At this juncture dear child of light, learn the art of sacrifice. It is a highly essential art because plenty of us do not understand that if something doesn't cost you, chances are the returns won't be high.

A whole God the creator of heaven and earth, the owner of the cattle on the thousand hills and keeper of creation could've counted how many people were in the world and killed animals to reconcile them to himself but NO! He took one of the most precious things to him; his son,and sent him to die the death of a common criminal so that humanity would be redeemed in a powerful way. What if you had to sacrifice your child to die so other children could learn a lesson or do things right? That's exactly what God did but some of us cannot even sacrifice the tithe of 24 hours a day which is 2 hours 40 minutes (if I am correct) to spend time with him. There is mission work and Jesus clearly said the harvest is plenty but the labourers are few; you my friend would rather link up for gist than help the good Shepherd gather his lost sheep. After you expect that the way 1000 people are asking for the same daily bread, he will live those sacrificing their sleep, Saturday chilling time, finances and co to evangelize and give you that didn't sacrifice shit? No now! That's not how these things are done. If it comes easy you won't have any regard for it so that's why like David, you cannot give God anything that didn't cost you. Sacrifice your time, pleasures, small things that you would feel deeply if you gave up, so you can please the God that gave his only begotten son for you.

Daniel was relevant because:

1. He accepted leadership roles and carried them out with the help of the Lord.

2. He refused to defile himself with unclean things literally. In our own time it is the cares of this world that can defile us.

3. He sought God and began to serve him EARLY!

4. He put God in the spotlight constantly. Always giving all glory to God and by his exemplary lifestyle, drawing men to God.

5. He had a full grasp of the concept of MERCY in walking with God and seeking the face of the Lord.

6. Daniel knew consistency was key to opening the doors of inheritance and practiced it even when God had opened all the doors.

7. His commitment and steadfastness was sincere.

8. There was sacrifice embedded in his servitude to God.

9. Daniel started seeking the Lord EARLY! I have to add this again for emphasis.

Finally, please note that God is the only person who gives GOOD SUCCESS and RELEVANCY.

Dear child of light,

This is where we draw the curtain on our little Daniel relevancy study 😊. Please drop your comments in the comment section and let's interact like family.
